75 750Four
« on: October 04, 2018, 01:12:11 PM »
Hello everyone.  I have joined the Forum looking for advice on a shop anywhere near me that may be able to help get my 1975 Honda 750 Four back on the road.  It was a gift from my father in law.  The bike had a 30 year hibernation, I got it running, but never well.  It falls on its face like it isn't getting enough fuel or spark, can barely get to 65MPH and gets there very slowly.  It has new coils, plugs, points, air cleaner, rebuilt (and synced) carbs.  The last time I rode it was after replacing the points a few months ago, it blew the main fuse, but now I can't get any power to anything even after replacing the fuse.  I have been fighting with the bike off and on for about 5 years and really am just ready to take it somewhere that I know will get it right.  Any suggestions from the group?  I am in Effingham Illinois, about halfway between St Louis MO and Indianapolis, IN.  I would drive a few hours to drop it off at the right shop.  I want to ride (and make it home on the bike each time I do).

Thanks all.  I'll reach out and get some help.  I'm in the middle of too many projects and I'm tired of this one being neglected.

I wanted to follow up in case anyone else was looking for service in this region.  I did go Steve at Hoy Vintage Cycles and I was thrilled with the outcome.  My 750 is running like a champ now.  These guys are specialists with these bikes and wouldn't hesitate to bring my bike to them for any service in the future.  Great folks and great work, highly recommend!
