Oil in the Blood
« on: February 11, 2019, 09:25:15 AM »
I got to see a screening of a new film by Gareth Roberts called "Oil in the Blood" during the One Show weekend in Portland.  The movie was made over the last 3 years and cinematically showcases the many aspects of the custom motorcycle world.  Here's an extended clip of the movie.  It's being screened again at the Mama Tried show next week in Wisconsin.  Roberts is in the process of working out a distribution deal so that it will be available for wider release (iTunes and other).

Enjoy:

Love it, Brilliant, some of them actually have a clue, it's still about putting the point of lite through the eye of a needle with panache.

When I was younger I couldn't see why some styles were popular at all. Now that I'm older and (wiser?) I know that it's better that we don't all like the same things. Every vehicle is loved by it's owner for whatever reason that makes it meaningful to them. I don't need to understand it to appreciate it.
The local antique car club used to come to our rod run and pick out which cars could still be saved. I pointed out if they had seen my 40 Chevy when I got it they wouldn't have wanted it.
My theory is every bike will tell you what it wants to be. You might not want to cut up an original survivor but somewhere there's a parts swapped beater just screaming for a custom build.
