So is that an f only feature? The clutch Cush drive? It does have a super easy pull in the lever, which I appreciate.

The cush drive is not part of the clutch assembly as such.
It is a link between the motor and the driveline, it acts as a shock absorber for the gearbox.

Cheers,
Brian

While you're at it, buy some new valve springs, part of the problem with F2 top ends self destructing was that the springs were too stiff, putting a strain on the cam chain, and the tensioner assembly, causing early failures. Once again though, if your bike is running well, just leave it alone and enjoy. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

The F guides were not an improvement, but a regrettable cost cutting change. Spring tech has come a long way since these bikes were manufactured. I'd like to have a set of the kibblewhite beehive springs and retainers. No reason to at this time though.

Thanks guys for all the great info.  Maybe upgrading all that stuff will be my next project after the R5 yamaha that is splayed out all over my workbench right now; next winter.  Too close to the best riding weather to take it apart now!  And that leaky 550 head gasket, and the rusty tank, oh, and the shocks and springs, and....the other bikes ... ;D
