Suzuki GT 550

So I haven't been on here in YEARS... But this forum is probably a better resource for Suzuki than the Suzuki forums. Some one has done this....  1973 Suzuki GT 550... On the right side engine is points plates with 3 sets of points. So I'm attempting to set timing.  The problem is each of the 3 points fire while the relative piston is on bottom of stroke. (We all know thats not gonna work) The point plate is on correctly.. It occurred to the relative postion of the Cam that opens the points must be wrong. Ultimately I pull the entire right side clutch and point cover to observer how the shaft that drives point cam interfaces crankshaft. The engine pistons would need to be in correct relative position. I assume since left cyclinder is number 1.. I put that at TDC then cam timing woud be right. I'm wrong... Doing that results in spark being delivered while piston is at bottom of stroke. I found instructions on a Suzuki 380 triple on the marks to line this up, but I can't find any instructions on a 550 and it's much different than a 380..

Has anyone done this?

Had a kz400 where the breaker points cam was on backward. Spark was off 180. Flipped it and all better.
Nothin matters, if ya don't mind.
