The infield area over the bridge is a perfect spot. In years past, there were many tents set up where Cafe Racer mag had its show, and now Motorcycle Classics. If we could team up with MC to help facilitate and grease the right palms, we would be miles ahead. A place infield would give us the much needed organization and central meeting place we need to make this successful. Also a large tent (cost covered by a fee to show your bike, which I would be down with) would keep us out of the hot summer sun and make it more "official". I remember someone here said they knew Richard Backus from MC and if they could do a special spread for our event, that would be icing on the cake. As I said before, I would like to bring 2 bikes and it seems like there are enough other guys bringing bikes that we could make a hell of a show out of it. We really need to get a nice combo or stock, modified, race (covered at minimum by me and OS, but would love some drag bikes as well). Does anyone have insider contacts with the track/show that can help facilitate a tent and an designated area for us?
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

You want to make sure that you don't double up with another activity. In 2009, there was a joint tent show of the SOHC 750 and the CBX clubs. I have no idea what SOHC unit that was, but it may be the same this year, although I heard there is the VJMC involved somehow. You may want to contact one of the ICOA officials, like their Rally/Event Director Rick Pope at

 rickeieio1@comcast.net

or send him a pm through the ICOA forum  www.cbclub.com
to find out details.

Its a bummer...but I had to cancel our plans to go.  HVAC Died right in the middle of a big house project so funds and time are tight

I did purchase 2 tickets though.  not sure if they are transferable but I'd be up for passing them along to a fellow SOHC4'er if possible.

IF they are transferrable Joe I have not gotten mine yet but the discount window is closing SOON. I would only need one though.

Hi Jerry...I just called the track they are transferable no problem. I just need to send you the PDF and you can print it out and use it.  They said it doesn't matter that my name is on the ticket itself.
PM me your email and I'll send along.

Whoever chimes in next can get my other ticket :)

What is the status of us having a real place to show our bikes? I would assume VJMC is top dog at the event, but they usually don't care for modified bikes, at least that has been my experience. I have an opportunity to possibly show with another group, but would rather have a great showing with a bunch of other CB750's rather than a mixed bag of bikes.

I did a terrible job of trying to put something formal together. But that said, I will definitely be there. If you are attending and are a member of the Facebook SOHC4 group or the 69-78 CB750 groups keep an eye out for a posting about where people are meeting up. I will also post something here. Keep an eye out on the "lets see your bike on the road' thread too as I will be posting pictures of my trip which starts next Tuesday.

I hope to get a chance to meet more fellow members of the family.

Cheers,

Danny

I have not sewn my SOHC4 patch on my jackets yet and I was hoping to be riding up but my SOHC4 is a project I am still amassing parts for its rebuild and restoration. My CX500  has the motor out for new water pump seal, mechanical seal & oil seal as well as a high output stator so it is not going to be back together in time... My intent to buy a new VStrom and ride it up is in all likelihood not going to occur before the 4th so it looks like I will need to drive up instead of ride. The funds I intended to use on the bike have been delayed on the transfer...
I am bummed as I want to be back on the bike again...
Anyway, I will pin the SOHC4 patch to either my shirt or hat...so, that should be a good way to recognize another SOHC4 member I think.

Yeah, I will be there Friday through Sunday and looking for Danny and Jerry and others.
Danny left and was in KY, I gathered as part of his trip, as he left quite a few days ago (week or more?) doing some touring apparently.

The finances I was trying to arrange did come through but, new bike developed a problem the same day I bought it and picked it up!! The dealer still has it! '19 Suzuki VStrom 650 XT Touring.
Going to be on phone beating on Suzuki to give me a new bike come Friday, when dealer is open again and Suzuki Customer Service is open as well unless they can give me excellent reason why they shouldn't. I think I got a lemon as the bike threw a Fuel System problem code and check engine light before even having 20-25 miles on it.  Check engine light persists and local dealer is scratching their heads. o2 sensor did not fix it as they had thought.

I am driving up tomorrow morning...finishing packing now...
(Yeah, Just In Time packing method being observed... ;) )

Have not found the patches so going to print something to affix to hat or shirt...
Several members from CX/GL forum also attending and intend to try and meet them as well.

I am staying in Dublin (NW Columbus) at Red Roof Inn Plus, an hour's drive from the track.

I am probably going to be wearing MC shirts like the CX500 line drawing, a Trevor Ware fund raiser T shirts I have (flake sunrise orange cb550 with dog on seat), and Musselman Honda, Tucson, AZ tshirts....  I found my SOHC4 logo patch and the Twisted Twins CX500 (HTTA) patch to pin to shirt or hat. I am a big guy so I won't be blending into the background.

I don't have a cellphone or I'd post the number or have it available via PM for anyone going whom is looking to meet.

I missed everyone, guess I didn't look in the right spots...
I was near where you guys were but must not have gone far enough...by the time I made it to the infield today Don was planning to be gone and Danny had left.
I Left around 1:30 Sunday as I got a sunburn Saturday and the sun was making it pretty painful.
Was an interesting experience, sorry I did not meet any of the other members that went.
