Hey guys,

I'm wondering if you have any effective techniques to re-surface the mating surfaces between my oil sump pan and the lower crankcase of my CB550K. I know there is a bit of powder overspray around that area, and it causes oil weeping in that area every time pressure is built.

Any non-(highly)abrasive techniques that would aid in re-surfacing this area so that the o-ring seats 100% flush and functions as it should?

Thanks in advance,

Paul (rookie)

Could you use a razor blade and carefully scrape the over spray?  You could soften it with aircraft paint stripper using a Q-tip to apply.

If you don't have aircraft stripper try acetone, gingerly.
