ID This Seat
« on: March 02, 2019, 09:50:19 AM »
Trying to identify this nice OEM seat. The only markings on the pan a white letters 52.6.24 which my Honda product code book does not list. There is no stampings in the seat pan. Anyone have an idea what this goes too?

If you don’t need it and want to sell, please PM me, I’ll buy (depending on price)
It’s of a 1978/79 GL1000 Gold Wing

52 equals to '77 year. 6 is June so probably it was mounted to 78 model.
50 equals to '75 year. 5 is may so probably it is from 75 model. I believe June or July was the month when model year changed.

You start counting from 44 (Japanese calendar) which equals to 1969, so 45 is 1970, 46 is 1971 and so on. 52 equals to 1977 so the bike was build in 77 but if you recognized that seat is correct for 1978 model year it may be correct. Model year for Honda changed somewhere in the middle of the year.
