Amen Rigid CB 750 chopper , BC.
« on: February 26, 2019, 05:30:10 PM »
Been dealing on this for a few years, finally, we got it..
I partnered up with a buddy on this.
So a good start , I think it shall remain a traditional chopper.

So the plan will be tube front end for now, replace the tired pitted one on there, but planning to maybe switch to round girder.
Similar to pic below,  I have a nice round girder and same bars..

Altho, I am pretty partial to the Black Bart bike, but not willing to rake it out more..
Damn that bike looks good , even 40 years later..

Very nice start! Love a girder! Since you're going traditional are you going to run a spool 21 up front?

This is the girder and wheel I have, need to make one tree and a stem,  i think its a 21 maybe and has a mini disc hub.  No I wont tempt fate and run no front brake,,  i have used up all my chances.. hurts enough to wake up every day already....
And i have a set of the sweptback bars that i posted a pic of before, up above.

754...... I’ve never had a chopper, looking for a K2 based one as my next project (I don’t have a ‘72). Somewhere I have a front hub that is only slightly larger than a stock Honda part, but is a small, twin shoe drum. I think it was on a CB750 based bike at one point.....

The round tube girder came on the saviour with the white tank, a few parts lost in the shuffle.
I think I can get it back..
The bars that i have are shown on a Saviour  with part of the top end off, those I have.  I think they would just look tits with the round girder.  Not sure if they are tillers, I guess they are but that name keeps bringing me back To the Denver style bars .
Lmk if  you Got a short sissy bar like on Black Bart ..

Sure they are nice, but don't you want to stay upright and be able to stop.
We called them coffe can brakes at times.

I havent got near it of late, I have the girder down there, but can only mock it up , no ste  or lower tree.
Got a crapload of ideas swirling around, keep thinking about using a leaf spring girder at some point, which I have , needs a bunch of work.. keep changing my mind.
I got to start using up my stash.

Man i haven't actually even seen a leaf spring front end in person. Let alone a girder leaf spring front. Thats awesome frank. I can see how one would have too many parts and too little time.
