CB750K: dash light boot replacement
« on: March 06, 2019, 09:05:49 AM »
Just bought a K5, and the rubber boots that hold the oil pressure/turn signal/neutral/hi-beam indicator lights in the dash are missing. Other than getting a new harness, what can I do to hold them in place? They don't have their own part number and I don't see any on ebay.

Someone recently 3D printed a set, maybe he will see this and reply.

That's Awesome AwesomeCB. thanks for the heads up, those little boots tear a lot when they're 48 years old. I think I made a harness from pieces once.

It turns out that I once had a need for such a harness... I was pleasantly surprised to find there is a repro ($28) available. The OEM harness when you can find them is something like $150...

Yes, ahem... looking for fixes that don't involve a new harness.

I mentioned the eBay ones because they're $28 with shipping. In my case, any fix I might come up with that does the job properly isn't likely to cost much less or be worth the hassle.
