Kickstart lever/arm ball
« on: March 09, 2019, 09:23:55 PM »
Just finished replacing my clutch and reinstalling and I even kept that little silver ball. The problem is, I don’t know how to get it back in. When I slide it back into the lever assembly, it clicks in but then the assembly won’t slide back on. I feel like I’m missing something obvious. Anyone have any experience with this?

Why did you have to disassemble the kickstarter to service the clutch?

I replaced the clutch plates and had to take the cover off.

But why disassemble the kickstarter? Just remove the bolt and slide it off the splines. Was it broken already? Or am I missing something.

Ah I figured it out. There is a little groove on the arm and the ball is loaded behind the spring. And you’re definitely correct- I didn’t need to take the lever off.

Now to deal  with my stuck plates/ clutch stall.

Thanks!
