cam tower bolts

on the 750, the cam towers have studs and bolts, is there any reason not to run all studs? bolts can pull the threads so studs are usually better

You can run all studs, but all studs makes cam install a little tougher. Not impossible, just less room for fanagalin'...

 Be forewarned that those bolt holes can be fragile and prone to stripping the threads if your not careful. Think some people,especially if building a hypo engine go right to a heli-coil or other fix procedure to eliminate that possibility.

You can run all studs, but all studs makes cam install a little tougher. Not impossible, just less room for fanagalin'...

ALL STUDS? Be tough!
Maybe, but you will have to assemble and disassemble it all as a set, with the rockers and cam "installed" on account of the 4 bolts that go through the rocker shafts.

Plus one on what Wilbur said if you mean just the 8 camshaft cap bolts.

I did the opposite. Im running all bolts with Timeserts in the threads. Now I have 180,000 PSI ARP bolts into steel threads. No way they are coming loose or pulling threads now.

Assemble as a “set”? To do that you would have to break the cam chain... YUCK!  :P

 Speaking for the peanut gallery, the concensus seems to be use the studs and bolts but timesert/helicoil the 4 bolts.  I have one tapped to 1/4-28. I dislike it but it works.
