1980 CB650c Parts
« on: March 28, 2019, 05:24:38 PM »
I have an '80 CB650c I am fully rebuilding and was looking for some advice on a hoop and seat combo in the cafe racer style. I am planning on welding something together on my frame with a seat that is not too long but also accommodates the "hump" in the frame due to the shock mount bolts.  I see a lot of parts for 550's and 750's but they never seem to specify 650's. Can anyone explain the difference between these and the 650, and is there a bike that is closer to the sizing of the frame and engine?

Thanks!

The 650 was the last of SOHC4s, with production beginning in 1979, while the others ended production in 1978. The 650 engine is essentially a factory bored and stroked 550 engine, in a redesigned frame. There were several other changes made with the 650, primarily with the electrical systems. Many of these changes were also used on the DOHC4 bikes that Honda began producing in 1979.
