Parts source for CB350F front disc brake
« on: March 30, 2019, 03:19:23 PM »
Howdy:

My 350F is going to need new front end brake parts, caliper, master cylinder, disc, and hoses.

I am looking for braided stainless brake lines and a nicer looking disc.

Will consider rebuilt master cylinder and caliper.  I am not able to rebuild what is on the bike.

Any sources you folks may have will be appreciated

Best Regards

Pattern, decent quality master and caliper at Dave Silver, different disc is not easy and lots of suppliers for lines.
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Thanks... anyone know of a shop that rebuilds the caliper and master?

Caliper is easy. Get the seal and piston kit from DSS or 4into1.com.

Save yourself the headache and get the replacement master cylinder for ~$45.

For a bit over $200 you can get a (fairly accurate) repro complete caliper and MC from DSS. With new pads and lines, this gets you basically a new front brake... unless the disk is damaged, a deglaze is all it will need.
Braided lines are fairly cheap. DSS also has replacement stock rubber lines.
DSS made a big play on 400F restorations several years ago, buying every used bike they could find and turning them into "new". They found suppliers to reproduce unobtainable parts, and still have an amazing selection available. The 350 Four shares many engine and chassis parts with the 400-4.
Used brake parts are also available online or at scrappers since the 400F. 350-4, and CB350-G twin use identical components. Maybe others as well but the 350 twin was super popular and even now scrappers have bins of parts for them.

Many thanks to all respondents!

Will post results when finished.  This bike was a helluva find.  33k miles but no blue smoke.  We had to trailer it home since it didn't start.  Once I dug into it, turns out I hit the jackpot.  Brand new tires, chain/sprockets, cables and new battery.  Went to replace points and found a recently installed CDI !!!

Holy Wah eh!
