Cb400f element question
« on: April 19, 2019, 06:55:03 PM »
Foam element is missing in my bike. Would like to know if anyone could help by providing dimensions of this foam element. I have Unifoam 5/8” sheet I can cut correct size.

It’s part #26 in diagram
Thanks

It doesn't much matter for exact size, and I expect most originals are beyond measuring by now. I used a piece of scotchbrite cut to roughly fit when I had the stock airbox. This is not a filter per se, it is supposed to condense oil vapor from the engine blowby to reduce clogging up the real air filter. My original foam disintegrated within a year or two.

Same thing on my 550's; leftover UNI foam sheet or any semi-dense foam, cut to fit snugly in the metal holder. It just separates oil/fumes/vapor.
