time for spokes
« on: April 07, 2019, 07:49:02 AM »
can anyone vouch for the dss aftermarket sets?  if not i'll probably go with buchanan or try the local honda dealer if that's an option for oem.

I've used their spokes (and lots of other parts) - quality is very good.

Bought spokes from DSS when I replaced the front wheel on my K7 with an aluminum unit from an automatic. Look good and no issues

How much are they? Dime City sells Buchanan stainless spokes and they’re about $100.

DSS rims OK. D.I.D rims. I have ordered Honda rim from DSS too, only difference was Honda label and much higher price. Exact same content, saw no difference.  Rims and spokes to CB750.

Some sellers sell spokes with yellow nipples if that detail is important for your build.

I’ve been lacing wheels for many years. Nothing beats Buchanan or OEM spokes but the last few times I’ve used sets from vintagecb750.com and they are just fine. They were on sale for less than $40 a set!!! I’ve had them on one bike, for over 4 years, and no issues at all. If you want to save a few bucks, these are a great alternative.

Buchanon, wheels are some work so the SS Spokes will last and look good for a long time.

If you plan to keep the bike, don't cheap out, buy SS from Buchanans.

I moved a hog rim off of a two hole hub to my drag bike project. These spokes were polished stainless and every one looks new and unscrewed/re-installed perfectly. That said I used Vintage cb750 and DSS. No trouble with either. Someone has the gold irridated nipples that came on some Hondas. I've been wanting to try a set of those too.
