1977 CB750K
« on: May 04, 2019, 07:06:12 AM »
Found a local to me 1977 CB750K, asking price is a bit steep at $2,800.  As a CB650 owner, I'm not familiar with the '77 CB750.  What should I look for?  From the pictures, seems to be stock except the exhaust.

Hard to see because the pics are not good but no stock side covers, can't tell if the paint is original, non stock mirrors etc. Looks overpriced for Ohio rust belt machines at 2800.00 in my opinion.

Paint, side covers and mirrors definitely not stock. Agree on the price.  I'm trying to get over the fact that I've wanted a kick start and mechanical carbs, plus the perfect lines of a CB750 frame.

The condition that seems to be in, coupled with it being non original paint, if it runs good I would pay 1700, or less if it were me.

Non running - 700 or less

keep looking, better deals will surface, $2800 sounds like a price you come up with when you want to recoup what you put into it
i also think 76 and older sohc's have more interest

I'm with you on the '76 or older, I also don't like the 17" rear wheel add in '77.  As I recall, there were some carb and engine changes in '77.  I think I lost my head for a moment when I found a 750 near by.  I keep an eye on the local adds and never see a SOHC CB750 for sale.  The DOHC models come up fairly often.
