Greetings from Vermont!!
« on: April 08, 2019, 08:38:20 PM »
Good Evening, Morning, and Day!

Straight out of the good ol' 802 - here to learn and share knowledge and experience.. whichever or whatever those things are to you

I have a substantial background in engineering, experience in various trades and construction, and an unquantifiable affinity for dynamics and mechanical things!

None of these skills qualify me for work on these marvelous pieces of history-
I still wake up most days shaking off the dreamy haze and attempting to reminisce about the smells of fuel and motor-oil, left behind to my slumbers. It's nice to make those dreams real, and most days it is feasible. I came across a run down CB650 a year or two back, with rusty leaks in the tank, botched carb bank and various electrical issues.... Short Story to the left. Right- this Forum has been a great resource for collective knowledge and learning experiences across the board.

I have only acquired for myself two bikes thus far: a 1982 CB 650 and a 1977 CB 550 K3
One was running last summer..
3 will be running this summer.
 ;) ;) ;D ;D ;) ;)

Looking forward- Perhaps I will divulge my various Honda blunders, horrible mistakes, SOHC sins, and general mechanical mishaps.. Hopefully none of the above.
-- Hope to get my Build Threads active shortly--

Welcome from Needham MA (Boston metrowest -- Hi to andy750 too). I also have some engineering background but little experience doing major bike restorations. I made a few mistakes this winter but the first bike is coming together nicely.

My '78 CB550K should be up and running within a week. I hope to do some riding up your way. Next I want to find a 750 to fix up so I can ride with my son and do long distances with more comfort and power.

Happy wrenching and don't be afraid to ask questions and admit goofs -- folks here are very supportive.
