MotoGP in Austin this weekend. Anybody going?

My wife and I will be there all three days.  We're really lucky to be just a 4 hour drive from the only race in North America, and we're taking advantage of it.  Who else is gonna be there?

Sadly living on the other side of the globe, I shall see some qualifiers, and miss the race since that's 7.00 am monday morn our time. work beckons sadly. Enjoy.

Race day today!  We've had a great couple of days so far even with the late start yesterday due to the weather.  It was raining on and off all morning, and then the torrential downpour came and they cleared everybody out of the stands due to lightning and high winds.  That lasted about 20 minutes, then the clouds parted and it was sunny and clear the rest of the day.  The track recovered quickly, so most of the qualifying was in the dry.

I got a couple of decent shots from our seats at turn 15, but I was mainly focused on just watching. Plus a bonus video of what we had to deal with before the action started yesterday.

All three races were stellar. Bit wet yesterday. Was glad to be in a box out of the weather.  All turned out well, though. Best racing in the last five years I've been going to COTA.

Saw this too late to try and say Hi to anyone but, had a great weekend and beyond thrilled to have access to a world class race event in (essentially) my back yard.  Should some sort of SOHC link up occur in the future i'd be humbled to attend. Texas weather was all the way Texas too!

Also, went on a demo ride of a KTM 690 Enduro R and holy wow; that's a fun bike.

I got to see a couple of Motogp races when Laguna Seca was still on the calendar.  Seeing and hearing those bikes, and witnessing the talent of those riders is amazing.  Hope to make it to Austin one. of these years.  The food would be good too.

Food is indeed good. We ate a lot of BBQ.
