I understand that this part is known for breaking under the gas tank. Mine was glued and taped together, but now the problem has come back.
Connection is bad and the starter is running even with ignition switched of.

Is it possible to just remove the connector and rewire it with bullets or connector plugs? Would like to know if the round connector has any specific function that I need to pay attention to

This starter problem sounds more like the contact bar inside the start solenoid is sticking. It probably needs to be taken apart and serviced (as shown in my book!). The Ignition plug has little to do with the starter. It only enables to the Start button when the key is turned on.

Another 'fix' that lasts longer, if you don't want to buy a new one from Honda (don't get the aftermarket ones, they are not made quite right) is to convert the plugs of this switch to the white plastic housing with blade connectors, which carry almost twice as much current. This was Honda's solution, beginning in the K3. You can get the plugs at Vintageconnections.com: PM me if you don't know which one.

Okey I assumed it had to do with the connector since it happend right after I... tried to measure the voltage going to the coil. I must have grounded it wrong since when I pushed the starter button I heard a "click" and everything went black. I thought it was the connector since the lights flickered when jiggling the connector.

Was hoping for a alternative connector I could get at a local store so I don't have to wait My bike is a 750 73 so I'm guessing someone installed the older plugs..

I think I need to look into the knowledge of this Hondaman book I've heard so much about

If it can run with the handlebars' switch at OFF then the wiring under the tank (or inside the headlight) has been altered from stock. The Black/White wire from the RUN-OFF switch on the handlebar should be plugged into the 2 Black/White wires from the coils, under the tank. Right now it sounds like the Black wire is hooked to the coils?
