Honda cb350f has no piston oil rings
« on: April 14, 2019, 07:37:51 PM »
I purchased a Honda cb350f off a guy in Arizona that had it running but killed it after he rebuilt it. He forgot to tighten the cam chain and it jumped timing bending all 4 intake valves. I lapped in new valves and got it running again. After running I was getting oil out of the headers along with smoke and the new spark plugs got fouled fast. I tore it back down and removed the cylinder jugs and no $hit I was missing the oil rings on all 4 piston! No signs of them breaking and no scoring so why would someone replace all gaskets, hone the cylinders but forget the piston oil rings? This probably explains the smokey and oily exhaust doesn't it?  :o

Some people should NOT be allowed to have tools is all I can say.

You might want to take apart anything else he might have "fixed". 🤬

Wow.
