Another one to restore - 1977 CB750F2
« on: March 25, 2019, 06:38:31 AM »
It has a 1984 licence plate on it, parked in a garage of a possible client. He does have the gas tank, safely put away and old gas in it. Phew!! 99% there, Koni rear shocks, engine in not seized, had a bunch of head work done years ago (hopefully valve guides), painted a s##t brown colour with orange pin stripping, good exhaust system. Some rust pitting here and there. He wouldn't budge from $1000. Couldn't pass it up but have a bit of buyer's remorse now. I haven't seen many of these posted here.

If the muffler's intact it's worth a few hundred by it's self.  Nice find. I don't know how good they stop, I'd have to guess pretty good. I've been reading that the 30 or 32 mm double piston calipers fit those brackets too.

First challenge, the gas tank. it may be shot. I'm trying to find a local repairer to get an estimate or even if it can be saved. Second, going through the carbs to see if I can get it running and what noises it makes.
