Clip-ons and right hand switch problem
« on: April 27, 2019, 12:09:16 PM »
So I changed my ace bar to clip-ons this winter. Trying to start the bike but now the starter button won’t work anymore. Kickstarter works and bike runs ok. I have narrowed it down to grounding issue. Maybe. There is a stud that prevents the switch from turning on the handle bar. Is this stud supposed to ground the switch? That stud is moving a little. Should it move?

Does anybody had similar problem after changing handlebars?

Bike is K2 750.

The ground is via the grip of switch on bars and bars on frame/ forks. Your problem suggests an insulated path somewhere, or you broke the yellow/red wire and/or starter button moving switch

Clip-ons are anodized. Maybe I run a ground wire in the switch...or does sanding under the switch do the trick?

Not unless you sand where they bolt on as well

Ok. I chose the wire method. Thanks a lot.
