I wrapped some rubber inner tube around the spine of the bike for dampening, also found some less worn out tank rubbers, that took care of all the squeaking and what not. Since that tank is blown up, it does sit on the rubbers snug. I bought some felt, some fiberglass patch kit, ill take a sanding bloc to the fairing, paint it, felt line the inside, install the rubber around the opening so there is no bleed over from the head light. I also backed off the preload adjusters one line, backed off the rear shocks one turn, seemed a little softer on both ends afterwards.
My case gets delivered tomorrow, Im goin to use this rack pictured below as a template to make my own and then make changes from there. Its going to have a higher sissy bar for a back rest pad maybe, I might have a removable option. It will for sure get a couple more LED brake lights incorporated.
The stewart warner oil pressure gauge ended up winning me over, although rusty, it just speaks to me. Phil like the marshalls gauge so I gave it to him.
waiting on the damper bracket from doobie, still need to order the damper.
I really, really, really, want to use this unicorn triple that I purchased, Im thinking I could get a custom mount 3d printed or just make casing around the gauge body with fiberglass, make sure I make a groove on that, then maybe make a new band that holds it in place if it needs to be bigger.
Ordered new plugs and new caps, bike is due for an oil change, my exhaust sits right under the drain plug. Ive been avoiding dropping money on new pistons and brake pads, new brake lines up front, thought about stealing the dual brake lines and MC that just went onto my 550, but Im not going to do it. I have this cb400f front fender for an 18" front wheel that I need to fit, Ive taken this frond end apart 4-5 times trying to get things right, im tired of doing it.
new pistons and pads
fit new front fender
new brake lines
new fluid
mount refurbished fairing WITH WORKING TURN SIGNALS (i mounted this fairing twice and didnt hook them up, was annoyed after each time)
try to fabricate a custom mount to utilize the unicorn triple
I was considering the fairing pictured below and the pro taper bars instead of risers and keeping what I have.
