You running LED's in your taillight? The 1157 style ? They look real bright ! if they're the 1157 type of bulbs,they're a Lot brighter than the ones I purchased.What brand are those bulbs ?

No LED in the tail light, the LED in the wheel well are just some cheap eagle eye lights from amazon.

sorry, thought i answered that, I swapped in a halogen bulb in the housing.

I didn't know they made halogen taillight bulbs

KO, K1 and K2  guages fit that triple tree, the band type guages, no studs on bottom. All except K2 have the indicator lights in the guages,  dont need lights in the handlebar clamp..

The steel ones , not so bad..  if you wanted to run faded ones.. minty ones.. yeah get pricey.

I never replaced my fork seals. I polished the lowers, put them away and got busy on another build, then I just installed them like 4-5 months later. Replaced them today, seeking a speedo cable still gotta look through some boxes. I also put the headers on the polishing wheel to get rid of the yellow, I didn’t bother trying to get the back of the bends but pictured them for reference.

Since the fork lowers are off I’m going to polish them over again since they still have a lot of scuffs on the surface, before and after below.

Cleaned and polished a beat up, full stock front fender hanging on the wall and installed it, no more dirt on my motor and headers....the headers look so much better with the yellowing gone and now im starting to fee like the back end of the bike is looking "light" while the front looks heavier/fuller. May need a longer rear fender.

Fairing has been installed, the grill over muffler is not final application but you can see what I’m trying to achieve. The diameter of it was exactly the same so I had to cut the aluminum band around the mesh so it would expand a little. Once that was done it slide right over the muffler which promoted me to use the radiator clamp. It's an ugly way to secure it, but the mesh looks cool. Phil said those are about 25 bucks each. I was originally looking for the honeycomb pattern  and was going to shape it and tack weld it to the baffle, that way its a clean look and only the stock set screw underneath is needed. My turn signals finally shipped, two weeks later. Hopefully I get those Monday, once my rear signals are on I'm taking this bike out ALL DAY to give it many chances to break down on me.

The rock guard was crooked so that was straightened out, still didn't finish wiring up the pigtails to hook up the signal on the fairing... I should have wired those out of the headlight before installing the fairing..now that has to come off to do it.

I haven’t messed with the carbs anymore but so far i think I have a float getting stuck due to the gasoline that comes out of my overflow tubes.
Working up to 4k rpm through the first 3 gears has moments of sluggishness, responsiveness when getting on the throttle after cruising at speed is sluggish too.

If I was going with my heart, I would be unlacing my rear rim, and lacing it to a super sport hub and modifying my swing arm to accept a brake support and run a disc on the back. Thats how I truly want to see this thing. I was trying to source  rear hub but it was going to get expensive building it part by part.. I just picked up a 75 frame, so its an option...I dont want to steal the hub from it yet though.

speedo cable (stealing the one on the 75' roller just acquired, stripped the screw holding it in so havent removed it yet)
stewart warner oil pressure gauge (these things are pricey)
some rubber to go around the headlight and fairing on the inside to block the bleed over of light
modify the inside of the fairing to hold my phone for GPS at the top
add AUX charging
new mirrors that install off the perch and get rid of the bar ends (motogadget $$, rizoma, or some 70 buck aftermarket off amazon that don't look too bad)
new grips since I cut holes in the ends for the bar ends, I like vintage barrel grips, I have thin hands and they don't require me to grip hard to have a handful.

If I have to take the fairing off ill probably sand it down, prime it and paint/clear it over again since its so beat up.

Gifts in my float bowl, no wonder it felt like a pig.
Pulled the carbs to give them another go, 120 mains, all four spark plugs are a very nice even tan color, forgot to snap a picture. Installed the rear signals, here are videos in direct sunlight it was bright out today, then in the shop. The placement of the rear signals will change as the rear rack is installed.

Pulled the carbs, two of the floats were 25 and and two were at 30, set all at 26, installed new carb bowl gaskets, no leaks, resynced. Cut away some throttle grip because it was dragging. Everything is smooth now, bike pulls great.

Too bad I bought the wrong kind of pressure gauge, this thing is gorgeous and goes well with my bike.

rode 280 miles in the last two days, My shifting isn't as smooth as I would like it to be, not sure if it has anything to do with the after market clutch perch im using, maybe not as much thread on the adjuster nut or something, Im eye balling a new set of EBC clutch plates for 60 bucks, electronic ignition coil combo for almost 300 bucks. The only thing it does is the idle likes to climb up a tad bit from 1100-1250 about.... I have to push the throttle forward a little.

I backed off half the amount of preload on the forks its almost perfect but Im going to go down one more. Once Ive got the shifting smoothed out Im going to really enjoy this thing. For the fairing to be the most efficient the head light needs to be as high as it can be, I love the extra storage space for gloves, my hat, or whatever I want at the front of it.. Its pretty ugly so Im going to fix it up a little, I for sure want an 836 if im turning this into a bagger.

Just bought a used CB400f front fender to close the gap above the front tire.

Couple things...these don't really shift smooth.  Actually one of the biggest gripes critics have had about these legendary bikes over the years.  The clutch if out of adjustment can make it worse.  I don't see any way the clutch plates themselves would affect the smoothness of the shift lever.  I get the smoothest shifts by rev matching and not even using the clutch...but don't make a habit of it, cuz when you mess it up your well on your way to making the shifts so smooth that it will no longer stay in the selected gear!  The other thing that helps is the best 20w-50 that money can buy and frequent oil changes.

I have found the early bikes to be the clunkiest...well '71's anyway, the earliest I have ridden.  By 77/78 the tranny shifted much smoother.

I was more saying replace the plates for my piece of mind before I tour it. After reading your comment I went back out and rode another 30 miles and Once properly adjusted I think the shifting is fine...its not a 550.

From reading here, clutch plate replacement often leads to a total loss of piece of mind lol.  Due to Honda's multiple re-designs of the cb750 clutch, after market suppliers seem to have lost track of what exactly is supposed to be in there.  So I have found the clutch to be a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of part...hundred thousand + miles and  about a dozen different bikes and none have broke yet.

I’m curious about the seat on the purple bike. Is it cut down or is the back built up? I’m a bit inseam challenged, I’m using a Yamiya -20mm seat, which works but a little lower would be good.

its a stock seat shaved down, then he took it to a local guy down the street who recovered it for 200.

went grocery shopping with the bike, noticed by signals not working, then loss of power mid turn, rolled right into a bank parking lot, smelled something burning. Immediately checked under my seat because there is a missing seat rubber and it looks like the seat pan was touching some wires. One of the plastic protectors slid down exposing the female connector, I saw burn marks there, still didnt match up with the amount of burned material I smelled.
Looked under the tank and the entire ignition switch harness was melted, sparking, so I started freaking out thinking the bike was gonna catch fire.

I pulled the tank and while pulling the lines frantically I got a good amount go gas splashed in to my eyes, since I wear contacts I freaked out about a chemical reaction. I only had beer in my bag from the store so I cracked one to flush out my eye and removed my contact.

My bike is parked at a nice safe, well lit bank parking lot a mile from my home, I could have rolled it home but I decided to drink the beer i opened instead and go home and make some tacos like I planned.

I ordered a couple switches on ebay just now, I have some buddies who have an extra switch that Ill go grab in the morning.

I knew I should have wrapped up my wires and replaced that seat rubber.

Im so damn happy I didnt destroy my bike.
