XDA RACE@ MIR this weekend
« on: April 24, 2019, 10:30:00 PM »
Decided to complete the month with one more race. XDA kicks off it's season with race #1 in Budds Creek, Maryland so we're going to make the trip up to see if I can do some justice in street ET on the tired, weak, but still kicking Honda. I plan to enter top sportsman on my nitrous bar bike Kawasaki, and then try my luck in the Crazy 8's class on my no bar, mono shock nitrous assisted KZ. Not certain yet but I may give the 5.60 index class a shot on the wife's dragbike-had to do some maintenance on it due to a shifting issue at the Gainesville race but it's loaded and ready.

Just finished up an oil change and check over on the 750. 2 bikes prepped and 2 more to go. It never ends when you're serious about racing.

Waiting in line for the gates to open at 8am. Its 53 degrees and getting more and more windy as the minutes pass. Not the most ideal conditions but everyone else will have to deal with it just like me.😠

Got lucky with a first round win in street ET due to a red-light by my opponent. Ran a 10.41@ 124mph on my 10.45 dial in. I may have to dial it down a bit. Although its a bit windy, all other conditions are great for lower numbers. Waiting for next round after the pro class finishes up their 2 qualifying runs.

Qualified number 14 in top sportsman with an 8.01 @154mph. Ended up #13 with a 8.92@160mph in Crazy 8's. Both these classes start eliminations tomorrow.

Nice going Frankie.👍. 10.42 /124 is moving out for a “tired” engine.

Good luck with the rest of the weekend.

Just theory so far..............but I'm thinking a 'tired' engine has a somewhat stretched cam-chain which would retard the cam a degree or 2..........and ADD power..... :-\ :-\..........or it could be rider-skill ;) ;)

Dang it Frank, it figures you would be the one to notice that illusion. Lol. As far as I know, he wasn't peeing. The shot just captured him in an odd pose.

Dennis, the weather conditions
were very good today and breathed new life into my current tune up. All my passes were low 10.40's with decent mph. As to the motor, It is tired- just ask Wilbur how much oil I dumped from my catch can at the last race :P. I'm feeling a little anxious about its longevity right now.

I red lighted in round #2, ending my day. Tomorrow morning is a new race day for street ET and also eliminations for top sportsman and Crazy 8's. Hoping to make rounds in all classes.
