I don’t know, I like the idea of spending a lot of time and about $400 to fix something that’s easily bought for cheap. :))

I mean, does anyone really expect him to do spark erosion?? Maybe there was a reason no one mentioned it.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis

I drilled out a broken bleed valve from my CB500 and in the process I ruined the threads. I got an $8.00 repair kit from napa auto parts that consists of a bushing with 1/8th inch pipe threads and a standard bleed valve. I tapped the caliper to 1/8th pipe thread and that was that, repair complete and it's still working fine.

hi guys, sorry I forgot to come back and reply, thank you for the comments. The reason I was considering the 'chemical' route, was it seemed like something different to try that I haven't before, and without risk of damage. The caliper is original, so I think its kind of cool to do my best to maintain it as opposed to replacing at the first sign of difficulty with a pattern part. I actually use my bike every day for commuting, so a broken ez out... order new part... re build... I could lose over a week, and the trains where I live have a habit of being out of service when I need them..

anyway judging by the comments I will hit it with heat and the EZ out or a torx bit and cross my fingers, as you say worst comes to worst I just order a new caliper half.
