Wall of Death
« on: January 26, 2007, 06:36:02 AM »
About 15 years ago I found myself  in Florida on business during Bike Week.
One interesting venue was about 10 miles north of Daytona Beach at the Iron Horse Saloon.
So I parked my Chevy Lumina about a mile north-out of sight, put on my outfit and walked back.
This feeling here was not Honda-friendly-I would say.
The noise and atmosphere gave me the impression that the whole place was about ready to blow up!

         Hey Phil,

I can really identify with the "Wall Of Death" deal. As a kid in, everytime the Little Rock Fair was open, I went straight to that area, Just to watch the old "101 Indian Scout" do it's thing. Back then, that bike was the main one being used. They, The Wall Of Death people got to where they'd leave a Scout with my Grandfather, to rebuild and pick it up the next time they came to town and leave another one and so on. They never picked that last on up. When my Grandfather died. it was still there and my Dad sold it. Thanks for posting this Phil.

                                                     Later on, Bill :) ;)

I think those photographs are superb and you should be a professional gerhed. I can just about smell the dust in the first picture. Check the lady out. Fist full of dollars, large build and is that a sneer?  Fabulous

I thought the same, specially because if they were taken 15 years ago -before digital photography-, those pictures doesn't seem to be shot from an amateur with an amateur camera.

-Appreciate the comments on the Wall of Death photos.
-I did spend about 30 years making my living in the field of photography.
-Some years taking pictures and some years as a salesman.

I actually had large prints of the Wall of Death pics
in my booth at a convention in D.C.
One evening they were stolen.
Security said they were the only thing stolen from the show over 3 days.
I felt honored!
