I believe NalleyRacing is working on this also, you might check with him. Google shipping boxes, new ones aren't real expensive and may be sent to your door.
The ones I got from DSS were packed with paper and foam board, the ones from Yamiya were bagged and spray foam was used between them in the box. I think they were layered with two on the bottom, like yin and yang, then cardboard and two in the top layer.

I had bought plastic board sheets from Home Depot (like carton). Cut them to size, used duct tape to form a box then halftime change styrofoam all around inside. Each pipe wrapped in bubble wrap. Shipped them over 12000 kms and reached unharmed

Went to the Dollar Store yesterday amd got some boxes to cut up. Doing a box similar to what Don said. Cardboard spray foam carboard 2 pipes cardboard 2 bikes. Board foam board.
Its coming along as the ugliest box ive seen in a while but it will keep them safe. Tews19 on here shipped me some 8over forks the where wrapped in a folded (kinda) box with what had to be a full rol of duct tape holding it together. Im going to do better! 2 ROLLS!!!

My deal is off, I was going to order from DSS but the racecar broke. I was PO'ed and not going to spend any $$ but the wife mentioned an unusually high checkbook balance.  This might be the time to find a new engine guy and get some exotic cylinder heads.

I found a guy that can fix my cylinder heads for a couple hundred. I'm not boxing them. It's a 6.5 hour drive, each way but I'll make it a mini vacation.

I made a plywood pallet to hold a cb750 engine upright. It fit in the trunk of a Honda Accord. It also had two eye bolts for a hold down strap. And a tarp under a blanket just in case. I went from Illinois to New Jersey once and to West Virginia once to pick up early engines. One was a sandcast engine with a blank diecast replacement case.

I forget the town, I had been through on the turnpike but never stopped to look around. Being a pipefitter I enjoyed seeing a pipeline being run through the mountains. Wondering how they do the rise, fall and curves. The locals pretended to have not noticed. L0L. May have thought I looked like a protester.
It's beautiful country, it was foggy and damp but not cool. I saw a lot of steam or smoke rising from the woods on a warm enough day. I told my brother it was moonshiners.
I'll have a 4-4 box soon, hopefully in good shape. After not getting my paid for 4-4's. I used the refund and a little more and bought a set from DSS. The ones I got earlier were Yamiya for sure. I got 2 #2 pipes and was missing a #1 David sent one direct from Japan. Then a year later I sold the bike to him anyway.

It's beautiful area to ride. Rolling hills and curving hollers.
Economically it's about dead.
I got mine shipped in a home made box of sprayfoam and cut up other boxes. It was the ugliest box ive ever seen. I think Jake would agree😂😂😂.
But it worked lol
