Thanks every one, it's an honor to be nominated. It's been a 10 year long road with a few detours. At this moment I despise photobucket for fogging my pictures. I'll attempt to post some good pics of the history of it.  We believe it's the third 750 sold at our local dealership with a frame number in the low 14 thousands.

Apologies for the links. Google and Photobucket are not my strong suit. Will work on real pics.  The top one shows some old pictures and playing dress up with the drag bikes parts. The first pic when I got it is on photobucket. I'll pay the ransom and download what's left of them.

This bike when I got it would run for 5 to 10 seconds and die. I cleaned the carbs, nope, then replaced the points and coils, nope, next fuel IV bottle, nope totally hand wired a new electrical system, nope,  another set of carbs, nope, swapped the engine with a known good runner. No dice. 5 seconds and dead. This was 3 days work, I got beer, called my brother and told him I changed everything except the frame and exhaust. OOPS! Call you right back. Yes, the muffler was plugged with pink insulation wrapped over the end of the inlet to the baffle. When it started the carbon was so thick it looked like a steam locomotive was in there running. So much for "ran when parked".
The neck bearings were tapered but dinged and when the dings lined up it wobbled at low speed. I could fix it by stopping and turning the bars side to side all the way and it could mix up the needle flat spots for a while. I was doing that and looked across the street, 3 Illinois State motorcycle police were looking at me like, what is wrong with that dude?
The frame was cut so it got a new triangle and lower tubes with a Gordons kit which I bored out to reduce the weight, the frame is powder coated and the tube near the side stand has been replaced from above the motor mount to behind the sidestand with one from a wrecked F0. The swingarm has the steel factory replacement bushings, ok so far, segmented rear brake shoes, new bearings in the neck and wheels.
The motor has original 4 cable carbs and an 836 kit with a ported head, new valves and APE springs with titanium retainers, and a Kenny Harmon F cam. I haven't opened the cases yet but have a diecast replacement case with sandcast internals, early cylinder and head and no numbers on the pad. It will go in someday. Maybe.

This is close to how it came home, not running behind a repo truck flat towed. Note the chrome swing arm, aftermarket chain guard, lowering blocks were already removed by me, "upgraded" shocks, and hiway bar. My wife never sat on that seat.
The blue-green sidecover was shot with a color camera and promptly painted red for my sandcast bike. Sacrifices had to be made. It's wearing a double lip fender now, I have a single cut here but it should have had a double cut.

Collecting parts to put things back to 1970'ish. I was thinking of a day two restoration as it might have been after being owned and fixed up a while in 1970. On the ground is the original wrinkle tank, the paint was gummy like it never dried. I had to scrape it off, sandpaper was useless. A set of temporary K2 headlight ears from a fine fellow here, I brazed shut and retapped the holes for the smaller reflectors, and a K2 bucket with a Stanley bulb, still going. Top pic shows the lowering blocks gone and both have the Dunlop K88/K71? I think.

I have a k7 in the shop and only wish it looked that good. It's the basis for an F'nK right now.

Thank You, Ladies and Gentlemen. I just remembered to check the BOM thread. I'm lucky to be the owner of this bike and sorry it took so long to finish. That said, a racecar, goldwing and a sandcast got in the way a few times.

I have to say to Speedswitch, I'd be proud to own that 77, it's probably the nicest one I've seen since I was young and they were new.

Congratulations Don on a well-deserved victory, and thanks everyone for voting!

It was a great honor to see my bike nominated and participating in BOTM. I currently am working on a second K7 which i intend to restore in a similar manner, but this time painting the tank and side covers Candy Alpha Red. When it's done, this will be my wife's bike. So there's a good chance you'll all hear from me again soon  ;D
