The top one shows some old pictures and playing dress up with the drag bikes parts. The first pic when I got it is on photobucket. I'll pay the ransom and download what's left of them.
This bike when I got it would run for 5 to 10 seconds and die. I cleaned the carbs, nope, then replaced the points and coils, nope, next fuel IV bottle, nope totally hand wired a new electrical system, nope, another set of carbs, nope, swapped the engine with a known good runner. No dice. 5 seconds and dead. This was 3 days work, I got beer, called my brother and told him I changed everything except the frame and exhaust. OOPS! Call you right back. Yes, the muffler was plugged with pink insulation wrapped over the end of the inlet to the baffle. When it started the carbon was so thick it looked like a steam locomotive was in there running. So much for "ran when parked".
The neck bearings were tapered but dinged and when the dings lined up it wobbled at low speed. I could fix it by stopping and turning the bars side to side all the way and it could mix up the needle flat spots for a while. I was doing that and looked across the street, 3 Illinois State motorcycle police were looking at me like, what is wrong with that dude?
The frame was cut so it got a new triangle and lower tubes with a Gordons kit which I bored out to reduce the weight, the frame is powder coated and the tube near the side stand has been replaced from above the motor mount to behind the sidestand with one from a wrecked F0. The swingarm has the steel factory replacement bushings, ok so far, segmented rear brake shoes, new bearings in the neck and wheels.
The motor has original 4 cable carbs and an 836 kit with a ported head, new valves and APE springs with titanium retainers, and a Kenny Harmon F cam. I haven't opened the cases yet but have a diecast replacement case with sandcast internals, early cylinder and head and no numbers on the pad. It will go in someday. Maybe.
