« on: May 20, 2019, 06:45:26 PM »
Hi Guys,
I need to have my Suzuki Intruder 1400 transported from Virginia to Washington state.
I am looking for recommendations for transport companies or suggestions.

Thanks!

My home is in the PNW.
I had been living in the DC area for a while and have recently found out I will not be returning as planned. I want to free up space in my buddys garage who was generous enough to store the Intruder for me for a few years while I am out of the country.

AMA members get a discount on Federal (I believe?). They shipped bikes from FL and CA to CO without problem. Wasn't a direct ship so it took longer and they arrived on the same truck.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Whoever you use check their references.

I've used U-Ship several times, on the east coast and on the west coast. Some people have had less than stellar experiences, but I've never had a problem other than being a little flexible when it comes to delivery or pick up time. Being able to post your ad in advance and let it sit and draw offers and having a wide time frame for pick up and delivery is what allows you to get a cheaper bid.

+1 Uship, never an issue, shipped at least a dozen cars and bikes.   Book with an owner-operator instead of a broker and you should be fine.
