I spotted this on facebook. A ton of hand work into making the cases that way. So many details if you know what the stocker looks like. The only thing I don't care for is the exposed ignition. Opportunity to do a cool vented cover or something that would still offer protection. I do like the little plug on the other end of the crank though. When you want to go extreme on weight savings and be one off, this is a nice way to go.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

He's using the motor as a stressed member of the frame Frank and the frame will also carry the oil.
I'm not sure if he's not got round to the top mount yet but you can't see it in the pictures.
He says the crankcases are stock CB750 but the crank end cover looks a bit special and it isn't like the CR750 cover.
I'll post more as I find out.

to me it looks like fully CNC machined cases.
just looking at relief areas under the top rear mount ball, it's nothing like stock cases.
"Stock" maybe in general look, not much else :)

looks like heavily modified stock cases to me, if I understood correctly what you mean, those relief areas are there also in the stock cases. You can also spot the welds used to block the passage from the cases to the alternator cover.

Would like to know more, is it for drag racing? Otherwise, without the front mounts, there is nothing much to bolt the motor to on  the valve cover

The crank end cover was used like that in the early 70s on the Rocky Cycle 750 flat track bike.
The front cover under the cylinders,  must be added if its not new cases, but I am betting, that brought in some war page to the cylinder base, and possibly the case half joint. . Resurfacing cylinder base is a minor problem.

ric, in stock, those reliefs end at the bottom like straight ribs, thats the only way to cast them. the large radius at the relief bottom can not be cast, only machined... ditto for the RSC writting in front.

the RSC front could have been machined on the stock cases, he even left the small plug in the middle.
As for the rest it's not clear to me to what area you are referring too, as he even left some features of the stock cases that wouldn't make much sense leaving if it machined the whole thing

That is just wrong   using banjo bolts on them calipers..
Now the unfinned calipers, it's OK.

Ban the Banjo. .

OK guys, the person behind this project is called Garth Allison and this is his last post, copy and pasted from Facebook.

Garth Allison Sam Green sorry can't get tapatalk , but the vision behind this project is something I could build after my CX500 cafe racer that was as people said , " a cookie cutter " . So my thoughts went to CBX 1000 , and other Honda twins that use the top section of the motor as an engine mount . I will mildly modify the engine as my budget is small . I making it a track bike , hence no alternator / charging system . The cases are std ones which took hours to shape and the RSC logo is Bonded on using Devcon . The frame will be actually similar to the CX500 , but very MotoGuzzi like also , with billet side engine / swing arm plates . The substantial single back bone frame will also be the oil tank . I know people have their view on this concept , but the top mount I have worked out , the only worry I have is oil leakage / sealing around the base and head gaskets . Drew a quick drawing of want I have invisaged . This is purely a experiment in design , I may work , it my not , but hay ,want the heck 😃☹️🙏

I support the effort. I envisioned something similar.

How you will connect frame with upper part of the engine? Modify head? CBX has 4 holes on the head for connection with the frame

seen mods like this.... it has been done before in other motors, not sure about a 750 sohc.

if the load is spread overall several bolts that are widely spaced then the pure tensile stress on each is not that high.

pic is not exactly what hes doing, but you get the idea...

Think it very much depends on if the engine was originally designed to function as a stressed part of the frame.  Agree that I also doubt the 750 qualifies.
