K0 four cable carbs
« on: June 01, 2019, 07:36:19 PM »
I have one that always seems to want to seep fuel, I've swapped floats, float valves and replaced them with new. They have the gaskets under the valve body, a rebuilt petcock with a new screen and a clean tank. It putts a little running around town but at highway speeds it keeps up with the fuel.

My question is has anyone ever seen a carb body leak internally anywhere besides from the float valve? My next move is set them up on the bench and observe the problem off the bike.

Hi Don I had a leaky carb on my KO. It turned out the bowl gasket had compressed a bit and was catching on the float at times.

The overflow tube that comes out of the bottom of the bowl has been known to leak from around  the hole. Mine did. I took the bowl off, set it on the vice with the jaws open leveled it, filled it with gas,  it leaked. Lots of,ways to fix the bowl leakl, remove tube and epoxy the hole. I dabbed clear finger nail polish around the tube on inside of bowl. 18 months later no leaks. This is a result of leaving the bike outside in freezing weather.
