Hello...just acquired a '77 550 and it seems the springs on the kick start shaft need some attention. I think the ratchet is constantly engaged and was hoping it can be removed with the engine out of the bike and the oil pan off? Or does the case have to be split?
I can get to it easily and have removed the snap ring on the inside of the shaft but can't get anything to budge. Thanks for any help!!!
