1975 CB550 Pelican Case mount
« on: June 18, 2019, 10:41:18 AM »
Hi guys!

So I mostly use my CB550 to commute to jobs in and around Brooklyn and am looking for a way to mount my Pelican 1510 with wheels to my bike. The caveat is I would like to keep it a two seater and would prefer not using ratchet straps.

At the moment I am looking at getting  luggage rack that extends off the back and come up with some sort of hardware that’ll attach the case to that- anyone have any ideas on hardware or are any systems like this before? Looking for any and all inspiration!

There should be many options on Ebay. Luggage racks with back rests were a common accessory on the 1970's bikes. My '77 550K had one.

Something like this would probably work. The backrest slides forward for solo trips and your case should bungee easily to it for commuting.
