How badly did I just #$%* up???
« on: June 22, 2019, 06:19:52 AM »
Just got my wheels trued and balanced. After mounting my rear tire I tugged on the bike to move it to a different spot in my yard. The bike wouldn't budge, so in my stupidity I tugged the bike again. Upon inspection my rear caliper was hung up on a spoke. I bent a single spoke, I bent it back. How #$%*ed am I?

Not too bad unless it pulled the rim to one side, you may need to tighten it a little. I'd keep a close eye on it though.

Mark the spoke with a sharpie or paint blob, just to remind yourself during your regular spoke inspections, you do check your spokes on a regular basis?
In the UK anything over 40 years old only needs insurance and Fuel.

Awesome, thanks for the advice!!! Also to answer your question I have swapped out the rear well on my cb550k for a 750fss, while it is snug it bolts up real well. However, my brakeline wasn't in the designated not h n the caliper  and caught a spoke. Also a quick question. Is well spacing on the swing arm designated or is preference? In other words how far out should my wheel be?

It's all about chain alignment.  With the front sprocket.

I think Scott was referring to the axle spacers not the chain length.
