Anybody have a CB500T ?

Does anybody have a CB500T (1975-76) ?    Before I volunteer to take a look at my buddies bike, I want to know if you can get the heads etc off with the motor in the frame.
Anybody know ?
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Nope, and you need a chain splitter/riveter for the camchain plus tons of patience.
Whats wrong with it?
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

the cam thain is loooong..and the valve spring is torision bar system, like 450...sold mine..it vas just not smooth like a four

You cant get the head off in frame, but the engines come out very easily. Once everything is dosconnected and the bolts are out, the engine basically just leans to the side and lifts right out.

If you're talking about taking the head off, I assume you might be considering some sort of top end work.  Just so you know, oversize pistons (and rings I think) are apparently very hard - if not impossible - to come by. 

I have no idea why, although it was never the most popular of machines.  It could just be that Honda didn't invest all that much in making spares.
