I'm not questioning the importance of Holocaust Remembrance for moment (especially from my perspective as an Israeli and a Jew).  And my question is definately answered by the Imperial War Museaum having a floor dedicated to the Holocaust and it's history (why *did* Chamberlain give in to Hitler?).  I might have made a similar choice that day.

I'm very familiar with Band of Brothers.  We've seen it several times as my wife is a bit of a WWII junkie. (I don't understand it either.  She knows more about some of WWII than the operations her husband served in!)  The episode about the camp liberation still makes me cry very angry tears.

Thanks for answering and letting us inside your heart on that a little bit.

Does anyone know what kind of handlebars are on the SS100?? I like that wide low style.

cheers
Andy

Broughs were handbuilt, as were most bikes of the period of course. I would imagine the bars were designed by Mr Brough himself specifically for his bikes.

Have to agree, they do look good 8)

Let's face it though, the whole damned bike looks good ;D

Quite right.  But I think it's undeniable that the population that Hitler most specifically targetted (if that can be distinguished from just brutally torturing and murdering others  >:() was the one that he named constantly in his writings and proclamations.  As far as I'm concerned, it's a human-race tragedy, both for the destruction and the complicit behaviour of many.  Nonetheless, *among themselves* Jews probably give it more attention than other populations *among themselves*; both because of Hitler's intent and his level of success in carrying it out.

I fully agree.

I have always wondered though, whether Hitler had such a horrifying 'Final Solution' to the 'Jewish Problem' in mind at the beginning of his rise to power, or whether they were just a target of convenience for his fledgling political ambitions, and the purges & gas chambers were just the logical (in his eyes) conclusion to that campaign :(

I agree with Superbiker too, far from glorifying war, the Imperial War Museum is more about bringing home, to me anyway, the extents to which men will go in their efforts to kill other men :(  In terms of both capital expenditure and sheer ingenuity :o
