Triumph Twins

Stumbled into a newly opening shop in the next town and found these on the floor!
Not for sale yet since they don't have their DMV license, but will be soon.

Notice they all have drip pans under them.  Brit bikes (like my BSA) like to mark their territory.  ;)

Oof.  I won't judge because maybe that was his dream bike but not my style at all. 

I think I inherited the nostalgia for these old triumphs.  They're just so classy.  Granted I was also never stuck on the side of the road with one so maybe I missed having the nostalgia ruined too!

You know how you can stop them from doing that?..............Don't put any oil in them!

They are alot like the old Harleys where they would assemble them then dip them in a tub of oil and just let it leak in!

They are sweet looking bikes with the conical hubs and unique mufflers. I like the red one in the 2nd pic, but I would not turn down the blue one if someone wants to gift it to me. PM me and I will let you know where to have it shipped.🥰

Back in 1974 a friend of mine went to his local bike shop with cash in hand to buy a new Bonneville. When he got there, the salesman pointed out that the Yamaha 650 was a better machine but being a loyal (at the time) Triumph man he bought the Bonneville. By the time he had got back home (20 miles) the left footrest had vibrated off, the right muffler was about to come off and the engine was leaking oil badly - he now rides a Yamaha.
But - I still like the look of these bikes !!

I regret never buying one of those Japanese Triumphs when I was younger, I always liked the looks.

IDK, the Kawasaki W650 gives it a run for its money, although I suppose you could argue the bevel cam drive makes it the best Italian bike the Japanese ever built.

yeah but do those even count?  I feel like they are so rare, you have to keep asking yourself if they are really real.  No idea how rare they really are.  I have never seen or heard of one except in books and magazines.

Everything a Brit bike should be  :)
Vibrates less than a XS650 and the clutch woodruff key doesn't smear itself on the main shaft like an A65 once did to me

Ive had a 71 yammy xs1b and a 72  triumph bonne.
 I'd take the bonne any day.  Both gone now.
