What is this carb part?
« on: July 05, 2019, 01:47:41 am »
I stepped on this and broke it yesterday, it's the bracket that sits underneath the floats, clipped over the main jet. I can see it on the parts diagrams but there's no listing or part number for it. WTH?
Still a success story, my 74 550 was only running on 3 cylinders, found out number 4 wasn't getting any gas so after replacing the float needle and seat it runs perfect. I put the broken bracket (tang???) back anyway as it still stayed in place but it's obviously not correct.
Anyone know where I can get one?

It keeps the main jet from falling down. Not available. Should be in place to avoid trouble. Maybe someone here has some to spare. I bought some sheet brass at a hobby shop, cut out the shape and bent it to do the job, it's worked for years without a problem.

Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

I'm scouring eBay now but it's hard to find a part with no name. Hoping I don't have to buy an entire carb but I may have to.

Found one on eBay, I went ahead and bought it for $15. And what's with being charged tax for online purchases lately?

Tax charged is whatever percentage your states sales tax percentage is.
