1972 K2 Honda CB750 Engine Guards. Hardware and Install

I have the attached bars and will have them chromed. Do these bolt right on, or do i need more hardware?

As mentioned in the title, these are for a 1972 Honda CB750 K2. Im not ordering from Dave Silvers, I have no patience for an international order other than the tank and panel set thats on the way from Yamiya:

You will likely find you need longer hardware. As an alternative to chrome, my son had a rough old set sand blasted and powder coated. They turned out very nicely!

Those are the same kind I have on my 750K2. The long bolt thru the engine is OK. The other 2 bolts are up to their last thread with the bars in place.

Hi Benelli, that is a very nice looking K2!

I think the blacked out crash bars look better than chrome! The wheels look awesome as well!

Those are the same kind I have on my 750K2. The long bolt thru the engine is OK. The other 2 bolts are up to their last thread with the bars in place.

is there anywhere locally I can find the bolts / hardware? This is the one im going to chrome. A poster here said tarazzo (or whatever you call them) engine guards are no good.

Im just going to chrome the ones I have. The single bar. I like the look of it. I have a similar set on my KZ650 seen below.

Just need to figure out how much longer that long engine bolt needs to be.

The Yamiya hanger bolt is 34 cm.

I took a look at their engine guards. No way Im paying $240 for them. Just going to have mine re-chromed.

Funny you should mention: with five bikes and numerous opportunities for headaches, Im not putting engine guards on at all. Its too much hassle for me and I just spent a lot of money on my 1982 CB900F and my KZ650, not to mention nearly $1,500 on the Yamiya tank and side covers and emblems, fuel caps, etc.

So no more engine guards, though I sure someone will stumble across this thread and find the info useful.

 The 550's use the shorter individual bolts to mount the crash bars, that's why I suggested a hardware store.
 I wasn't aware the 750 used a 12.6" long bolt as one of the hangers.

Thanks!! Im going to keep the bike clean with no guards. I think it looks better and like i said, im not going to search around for bolts. Im pleased in my decision. Thanks for your help.

You may be shocked, depending on where you live, at the price to re-chrome.  It isn't cheap.  The overhead for plating shops is very high now and that gets passed onto the customer.
