Isn't there a mount underneath the stock triple on a CB750 for the optional steering dampener?  I could of sworn there is...Small little tapped hole on the right side of it...Maybe worth a look...

yes, you can mount one end there as well, but you still need to attach it to the frame ;D

Derek, those are the stock dampers for the Kawasaki H1 and H2's. Take a look at the frame drawings for them and you'll see they mount at a 90 degree angle to the forks. New, OEM dampers were available at Parts N More a while back for around $50. The Kaws attach to the bottom of the triple tree and back to the frame - just below the gas tank. It doesn't matter right or left -Kaw has them in both configurations.

Gordon

clarkjh thanks, but someone else PM'd me and is sending me one.
754  You are correct sir.
bert96 the link you gave is for a 34m bracket. Having tried a 35 and found it a bit big, perhaps this would work.

I have done this install before on another bike with this exact dampener. I just want a cleaner look on this one.

I it is just so reflective!

Kudos on project "cost be D@#&%". You ain't got this bike!

It is truly cool to see such detail, and family involvement. My personal approach is much different, but it does a heart good to see the results of the close enough to perfect club. I am impressed.

A bit more mucking around today. Started to mock up at the steering dampener.

I am looking for a nice clean way to hook up the frame side of the dampener.

How about using the same style bracket that is on the fork, just made to fit the frame?
If you are mounting an oil cooler, you could extend the cooler mount bracket to incorporate the damper mount.
There's a post in here somewhere where some people just used a muffler clamp type of thing to mount the damper to the frame.

Thanks dg. I used the muffler clamp on my other 750. Works, but looks like crap.
As for the bracket I have???????? not sure it will fit. I'll check, can't remember where I got it from though if I need another one.

Goat: "close enough to perfect club"  I don't think so, but I am trying, thanks ;D

...anybody notice the Lesters look just like the XS650 mags?  Been working on a 650 the last few months, and I can't tell the difference.  Thinking of picking up a par and seeing how hard it would be to mod them to fit a 750.  seeing your wheels made me think of it...

This bikes oil tank is different from my K8. Since it was not a "together bike" when I received it I am in a quandary. I am running without a stock air filter. Where do I connect the circled ports to?

The lower one goes to the bottom rear of the engine I think, but the diameter of that is much smaller than the one on the motor?

I have looked at parts fiches and I have manuals, but still not sure ?????????

P.S. I have no hoses to even guess by using length.

So...overflow should have a hose on it directed down along side carb overflows to the ground?

That's it Derek, you just need a piece of (3/8 inch ID, I think) hose to redirect any overflow (hopefully, only oil mist and not oil) from the top outlet on to the ground, or for racing purposes, into a catch tank. The hose normally exits between the frame and swingarm Cheers, Terry. ;D
