Derek I used this splitter for a while before going to two individual lines from master to caliper. The calipers are mounted behind the forklegs though.

Thanks for the input guys. The photos are helpful as well  ;)

Looks like I need to slow down again and get my front end ducks in a row before ordering the lines :-[

P.S. Any one have a good on line source for chrome or alum brackets of different lengths?
I need 2 small  "L"  brackets for the front turn signals to come off the top fork bolts 2" long would be great!

Scroll way down to the brackets. The "L"s may not be long enough.

The "P" clamp, and the other clamp look interesting. They could ride on the tube right above the lower tree.

I know I saw a kit of universal "L" brackets but can't put my cursor on them right now.

Seaweb,
methinks your bracket will be about 27 degrees off vertical if you mount to fork nuts ?

gotcha a switch bracket... unless you want a cool billet one made..

Cliff is the MAN! 8)

Thanks so much for the "Free" stock fender hoop. Fits perfect..................and the fiberglass fender slips over it great.  Will need a bit of mucking, but now I have a platform to work with.

Buddy coming over to tomorrow, we'll get it on the bike stand and I can look at reversing forks and get a  good fit.

Heading down towards Victoria on Sat morning to take our daughter to a 4H camp and I plan on dropping off my "Lester Wheels" at a "Mirror Image Metal Polishing" to redo the aluminum on the walls. They are a bit chewed in a couple of places.

I have done 2 bikes of powder coating at 2 different coaters, but not sure about this issue.

Here's the question?
I plan on having the wheels powder coated afterwards and he, "polisher" has indicated that him 1st and powder 2nd is the best direction.

talk amongst yourselves ;D

Well, I got good news & bad news.. >:(

I wrapped up your part as it was 2 thick for fat letter rate.
Shorter than a small evelope , actually inside an enveope & about 1.5 x 2 inches 9.00 + or 8.00 plus in a special envelope.. :o

I went into palpitations, in fact I even left some papers I had with me behind...and had to drive back for them later..

Good news, I can bend the part the switch sits in, and send it for  for 2 bux fat letter rate.. real easy to bend back..

..or I bring it to Tsawassen....

I realize the norm would be to pull the brake lines back in between the fork and loop them up, but I think with my new fender it would be a tight squeeze. Anyone see a problem with running both new  lines up the way I have them draped across the stock splitter/switch?

Looks a bit...........?

Anyone care to put up a photo of your dual aftermarket brake line routing?

That won't work Derek, it's a clutch cable. You'll need brake lines.........  ;D

But seriously, I didn't like turning the forks "back to front" "back in the day" thus turning the calipers backwards, it doesn't make them stop any better, it just looks wanky.

At the time, it was common to do this to mimic the rear mounted calipers on the sportier Kawasaki Z1, Suzuki's GS1000 etc, but for no real practical purpose.

While single puck calipers are not really "de rigueur" for fast performance bikes, CB750 calipers are certainly not unattractive, and look better as Soichiro intended them, pointing forward. Here's a pic of my conversion. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Magpie, sorry I didnt see the post last nite, i did find a MC and caliper, at least I know where they are. Will try to bring them..

Read a 75 GL test in Cycle World..
They were praising HONDA for mounting the caliper rearward, it does lighten steering feel, and I think makes putting wheel back in easier if they are hanging, not flopping.

To a lot of people, they look optically lighter facing rearward..

Two entirely different calipers Frank, a CB750 caliper will "flop" no matter how it hangs as it's "hinged", compared to the GL1000 caliper being bolted directly to the fork slider. Apples being compared to oranges, methinks......... ::)

What I meant was, on the back they tend to point down somewhat in line, up top they tend to skew different directions..

looks cleaner with the lines not sticking past the forks too..

Drilled out the top bracket that was on my new fender.
Cleaned up fender hoop Cliff sent me OOOOOOOH What a mess!!!!!!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Bolted it on, slipped fender over and it just found it's happy place! Should be quite easy from now to drill holes on hoop to instal.

Remember: This is a Garage/Den build, not a SHOP Build ;D ;D ;D
