It's nice to be able to walk around the bike without bumping in to something

Spent some time today doing a good bracket fitting for the fairing and sorting out M/C clearances.. I have a spare Emgo that I am using, dropping, scratching etc. "New one in box"

I think the bottom corners and the screen will need be rounded and have some meat cut off.

Reflection from floor circled gives me an idea for a paint scheme perhaps

White lines show where I think fairing needs cutting down.
Anyone good at photoshop please feel welcome to show me your visions

I've always stuggled with those cafe fairings...do I like it or not? I like it a lot better with your modifications.

And a shadow checkerboard set in a pool of clear lacquer would be very cool.

I just spent half an hour re-reading that thread. Don't ask me why...actually it may have something to do with the fact that I have my year end review with my boss in a day or two and am procrastinating...well that and the coors light!

Ha ha Derek, really great to be able to SEE the chrome monster. Last time I saw it in person I don't think any of the 3 of us could SEE anything very well

What type of finish are you going to seal the tiles with?

Can't wait to see what it looks like after your mods and with the new pipe on it. Wish like hell that I could get back up there. Something about the island life style

No, the Brimmers are being saved till I learn how to do burn outs with this thing.

Regarding the floor tiles, I poured some sort of product and mopped it on twice before moving in.
Something that was recommended by a dealer.

I often struggle with the fairings myself. I cant decide if I like them or not but yours I like. What exactly did you do mods wise?

Cut down the Emgo with the dremel today as well. Still needs a bit of trim, but we cut quite a bit off so far.

Me going real fast before the last fairing cuts.

Very very nice pipes!! Can you take a photo from the front showing the headers? Id like to see the sweep downwards and access to the oil filter. Thanks Derek and fairing looks so much better!

Yes the pipes are quite attractive!

IIRC, the original Yosh pipe did not allow for filter or drainplug removal. The pipe had to be removed. Looks like the Yamiya? version makes those concesions.

The original also did not allow for the centerstand, can't tell about these pipes.

My Bol DOr replica pipe does not allow for all three. They were sacrificed to the ground clearance /full fairing gods.

Here is a photo. I had unscrewed the oil filter before install so even I had not checked clearance issues.
None

P.S. I shaved all the center stand stuff off of frame before chrome, so no issues for me on that point.

Thanks Derek! The front looks amazing!! Those downpipes are incredibly sexy....and looks like you have plenty of clearance for the oil filter. Can t wait to hear this thing run!

In my opinion the perfect fairing for that beauty would be one of these, fro what it's worth, having spent top dollar on all kinds of other goodies putting an Emgo fairing on it just doesn't seem right. Thats just my opinion of course it's still a fantastic looking bike.

"Back in the day" Tracy had what we called a "bikini" fairing to go with that body. I had the Tracy 2 piece tank and seat combo in 1972 (see my avatar)

That aluminum stuff from the tank shop is amazingly cool though!

With all chrome I can't believe you have not polished the bronze/brass? elbow for the oil pressure gauge yet
