Derek,

You should check out the fairings that came on the 1976-1978 Moto Guzzi Lemans I's. Bikini fairing with 7"cut out, would definitely look the part on that gorgeous creature.

I appreciate all comments 8)  That last chrome fairing is awesome, but I think my cuts to what I have will work out OK.

Any one ever do this?  Wonder what the law will say?  Just muckin around. Can't get a flush mount on fairing for the signals.

Exotic in a black lipstick kind of way.  Too low to be practical though.

How about horizontally off of the lower tree clamp bolts. They would be almost in line with the rears and a little more functional.

Sounds good. Now I need to fab up a couple of side chrome brackets  ;)

I figured if I put out a bad design, someone would chime in ;D  I knew it wouldn't pass inspection, just got a bit frustrated today.

"Breeze", what did you do to sort out your throttle cable issues with your Yam controls?

Glad you asked Derek........I was about to start bugging you about wiring the controls and how that worked out. I went to a Yamaha dealer and bought a cable that had the right barrels on each end and took it to a shop that cut it down to the right length. They were supposed to change the gray cable cover to black but didn't.I was in such a hurry to ride that I installed it and planned to have another made in the winter.....(Hey....its winter!!!!). Thanks for reminding me!!!!! ;D.........Hope you like the controls....I sure do!!!
Glad you didn't like the chrome fairing....I didn't either!!!!
Any other questions about the controls and such.....just ask.

Yeah, I've been farting around with them ::)

So you used the Yam cable, and just cut it to length? Both ends worked out in the control and Carb?
Or did you use the Yam cable with a honda carb end?

Having not seen a Yamaha cable I don't really know what to expect?

Its been awhile but now that you mention it....I think I matched the upper barrel to the throttle and used the stock Honda at the carbs.
I think you just need to look at what you got and what you need and get a cable made.
Now that I really think about it.......I should look at my bike directly and tell you exactly what I did. We are using common parts and that does not mean they are compatable with other different items. I will try to get out to my bike this weekend in the daylight and verify a few things.

Yes the pipes are quite attractive!

IIRC, the original Yosh pipe did not allow for filter or drainplug removal. The pipe had to be removed. Looks like the Yamiya? version makes those concesions.

The original also did not allow for the centerstand, can't tell about these pipes.

Same here Ron, my original Yoshi chrome pipe doesn't have the "tweaked" headers like Derek's replica, and I got it because the owner didn't like not having the use of his center stand. On the other hand, for the 50 bucks I paid for it, I don't mind at all..................  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Remember I'm an "Island Boy"
I can't just drive down the road to the dealer..........It will be a complete day trip for me, so any advice / direction will always be appreciated.  ;D 8) I want to sort this before I even start with the electrics.

OK Derek.....I found the wrapper label from the cable. It is a Motion Pro part # 05-0301.It has the correct ends but will need to be shortened. Also ...it has a gray colored housing so you may want to have that changed to black or whatever. The handle end does not screw into the control like the Honda cable. It just pushes into the hole and there is a tab that screws into the control that holds the cable in place. You should be able to get this tab & screw from a Yamaha dealer or Mike's XS has them.

So.....the carb end on the Motion Pro part # 05-0301 fits on our 750 carbs and I just need to snip shorten and sort?

Went to town today and stopped off at the Nanaimo Honda dealer and had a quick chat with my favorite mechanic. He suggested I go to the Yam dealer......(closed today?) and he was sure they could sort out a cable for me as they have made custom cables for the them in the past.

I think I may wait on the "online order just yet" and see what they can do for me.

Thanks very much for looking  ;D, I may still get back to your directions..........

Ponder over 8) ;D

1st:  I have removed my center stand gear on this bike. So I don't know if that becomes an issue on a stock set up.

It fit perfect, did not interfear with rear sets or aftermarket oil filter adapter.
It weighs "nothing" ;D ;D

Very happy with the quality/

Yamaha Dealer in Nanaimo......."Might just as well close their doors"
What a waste of store front :P

No go on a local source for throttle cable. I'll have a chat with Motion Pro about a custom.

I've been trimming and shaving the fairing to get what I want as well as trying to get some wiring done.

Being color blind makes the last bit quite frustrating :P
I'll hit it a bit harder when we get back from our trip.
