That is a shade of blue that didn't make it to the US, or else that photo is faded, my US '75 550F was candy sapphire blue, much brighter than the blue in that photo.

it's not faded,....the snapshot is a darker shade than the postcard but the blue on the card still does not resemble the candy sapphire blue. .... you're right about the color for 1975. That's one reason i put the card out there was for curiosity sake as the color appears to be none i've ever seen. I don't know french but the lower  right corner seems to say the colors were blue( bleu) and red-orange (rouge-orange).
   Other obvious differences are the blinkers, mirror base attachment, and no reflectors on the head light housing bolts....
