Ive rode for almost 20 years, since my last accident . T-boned a off duty depuity, and he admitted it was his fault? Anyway a friend called and wanted to use one of my bays, I had a
650atv, and a gs750 to move into my work bay. Now it's close to quit time, but I swear I hadn't had a drop, rode the gs around the yard once, pulled in bay, put right foot down ,and landed right on a gravel, on slick concrete floor, leg went east, bike went down, handlebars hit cb750, domino effect, CB went down, brake perch snaped.
Then my weak ass wasn't strong enough to lift either bike back up. My 8year old son pulled up on his pw80, with a what the heck look, and between he and I we got them back up.
Broken perch only damage, besides my soul?

Don’t feel bad! A few months ago, I stopped at the STOP sign on our road. Smooth, worn, old riding boots, smooth pavement, topped with a bit of sand. SLOWLY laid it down. No one around, no damage, but I did get a pair of new boots!

My buddy, Smokin' Joe'  I call him, rides a vintage Gold Wing. He got into the habit of starting the Wing and having a smoke while he put on his riding gear. Then he stepped up to the bike, put his foot on the left foot peg and stood on it to swing his right leg over. During this operation he steps it into first gear. Down he goes with the bike on top of him.
My son, a non smoker, was getting into this bad habit and had to be scolded.
I told him to learn from other peoples mistakes because he will not live long enough to make them all himself.
They are not all the same!

Nothing is of great value until it is finished.

The last line is a gem. I never worded it that simply, I may repeat it.

New master installed, all is well. But, bars a tad crooked, and when turned to lock, pushing backwards, theirs some drag?  Im going to loosen all triple clamp bolts and straighten up bars,  but where is the drag coming from? Only happens, turned left to lock? In reverse!
It's not the tire rubbing! ???
