Shorter clutch cable for a CB750K
« on: July 13, 2019, 06:32:13 AM »
What is everyone using for a clutch cable, when lower handlebars are being used? The stock cable is too long and hard to route with the CB400F bars that are on the bike. Thanks!

Motion Pro will make cables to custom lengths. The cable quality is not up to OEM and their ordering system isn't good but you can get what you need. Lay the old cable in place to see exactly how much shorter you want them.

There are some shorter OEM cables for the shorter bars Honda used in Europe that might be short enough to work.

I just ordered a short motion pro clutch cable from eBay arrived in 2-3 days, I think it's 50 inches or so.  Replacing one I had on hand that way too long at at about 60 inches.  Short one fits great, seems to be of decent enough quality but I don't have any miles on it to know how well it'll hold up
My toolbox consists mainly of hammers.

I've used the K1 cable for the European handlebars from DSS. Those bars are similar to 400F's. I'm thinking 4-1 or Z1 parts had short cables but I'm too lazy to look it up.

I ordered the European cable that is used on the lower handle bars. It’s about 4 inches shorter than the stock North American cable. This was for a 76 CB750F.
