1976 Honda CB750 bought
« on: August 18, 2019, 06:08:57 PM »
Just a quick bit of info. I have spent hours trying to set up the carbs (three cleanings) on this bike with zero air filter in place to no avail. I bought a new air filter and new air filter to carb rubbers fitted it all up, now she starts first press of the button and purrs like a kitten. The moral is those carbs need something to suck against, they wont run well without an air filter....

We would have saved you a lot of time if you had asked about tuning with out the filter. For future reference have your full exhaust and intake setup in place, confirm your timing and points gap, install fresh plugs, and check valve clearances before you start messing with carb mixtures.
