I took the head to the machinist to be freshened up. As I suspected, the bike slowed down because the valves were not sealing properly. In fact, they are worn to the point of replacement. I knew from the last valve job I was probably faced with buying new ones so I'm not going to get bent out of shape. 8 titanium valves at $125 each will put a dent in my pocket but its all a part of racing.

I'm not going to have time to freshen up the Honda and have it ready before the next race, but I will probably still tear into it once the Kaw is done. I can run one of my other bikes in street ET instead.

Did you do a leak-down test before you took it apart?
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
Helmets save brains. Always wear one and ride like everyone is trying to kill you....

I didn't do a leak down. No point to it in this case. I knew it was hurt and had to be completely rebuilt. Yuh
