cb400f brake arm stud
« on: July 13, 2019, 07:38:33 AM »
The brake arm attached to a pivot with three mounting points, two bolts at the top and below to a stud mounted in the fork lower. The stud is threaded on both ends, but offset with longer threads on one side. Based on the depth of the tapped hole in the fork lower it seems like the longer end of the stud threads into the fork. Can someone confirm?

I can't confirm it but whichever way looks better is the way to go. I could take mine apart but it would not be the first time, so whatever way it is will be the way I thought looked right when I reassembled it. It really does not matter: if you have enough threads showing to tighten the nut, it's OK. The fiche image is far from definitive but might indicate the longer threaded end goes in the leg.

Thanks. The threaded hole in the fork lower is deep, and there was enough thread on the short end of the stud to hang the brake, so that must be it.
